I enjoy the challenge of trying to capture the unique qualities of the model and their pose, the light and space, within a specified time.
I currently run figure drawing sessions in Woodbridge, Suffolk and Firstsite, Colchester, Essex. Please see details below.
Life Drawing

Fortnightly sessions with a relaxed and friendly group. Gentle tuition if required during morning sessions.
Afternoons will be long poses. Feel free to bring your paints! (water based only).
£15 per 2 hour session. Materials and easels provided.

Bringing together my research in drawing and the history of depicting the human figure with practical exercises to help you gain confidence and find your own way of drawing a person from life.
Each week we will explore an aspect of figure drawing that I know people find most difficult. By increasing understanding of the anatomy and physicality of the human subject, using different strategies to perceive and abstract parts of the body and exploring ways of capturing individuality, drawing from life will become more fun and less daunting!
We will look at a range of approaches from different practitioners, historical and contemporary, and use ourselves, each other, drawings, photographs and clothed and nude life models for reference.
